*Legend of Zelda-esque "dark work".  More or less transported to a land that is identical in geography, structures, etc, but whose landscape is of a different color palate, its sky being black/dark in some way, and a feeling of "evil"

This would be a great concept to explore in one of the middle novels, after the characters have grown into their roles.
