The Norric Elite is the largest ice hockey club championship on Eshraval, consisting of teams in the Norric nations of Haarden, Skjonohav, Arëdighùan, the Shaelic Commonwealth and Nation 25. There are a total of twenty teams, divided into two separate leagues: the Trokatt League, comprised of teams in Haarden, the Shaelic Commonwealth and Nation 25, and the Avangard League, with teams in Haarden, Skjonohav, and Arëdighùan. The league is also known by the terms The Elite 5, referring to the five nations hosing league teams, or The Elite 20, referring to the twenty teams that make up the two leagues.
The Competition
Format
The two leagues comprising the Norric Super League compete in a quadruple-round robin competition where each team plays every other club in their league four times; a team has 18 home games, and 18 away games each. There are 180 regular season games in total per league. Matches are held over 20 weeks, with each team playing an average of two games per week. A team receives two points for a win, one for a draw, and no points for a loss. There is no bonus point system used at present in the league system. The top four teams at the end of the round-robin phase then play Best-of-Three semi-finals - the first placed team hosts the fourth placed team, and the second placed club plays host to the third placed team. The two semi-final winners then meet in a Best-of-Three League Championship Finals series, with the top surviving seed having the home venue advantage.
The champions of both leagues then meet in a Best-of-Three series to determine the Silvret Koppar champion.
