Arvihl

Overview
Arvihl is a Shakrihl language, one of the four composing the Tarian Family.
It is spoken in Arvitan and in eastern Arëdighùan (Deirityr, Taria). It must be stressed that the Duneghostek spoken in Dúneghosta is scientifically considered an Arvihl dialect.
By this point of view, approximately 80 million people in Taria are Arvihl mothertongue; which makes it the second Shakrihl language by number of speakers.
History
Not much is known about the Shakrihl dialects spoken in Arvitan before 2000 BCE. What is sure is that during the He Flathias empire, which lasted until year 75, a unified language was imposed by the High Priests.
During the Kingdoms Era this language (sometimes referred as Flathihl) followed the fragmentation of the territory, and originated various regional dialects. After the rise of Arvi Mairnagh and the consequent age of unification, the dialect spoken in southern Arvitan slowly assimilated the other ones.
The Fianharidek dialect soon became the mark of power and civilization, and scholars started calling it the Arvihl. It strongly intermingled with other dialects, which are now much more similar than during ancient times.
During the Colonization Era the Arvihl was taught together with Hårdanska also in current Duneghosta, even if with a stronger regional corruption. The current Duneghostek (a name invented after secession in 1233) is the northern dialect of Arvihl.
The Shakrihl of the Flyrsek plain and western Dornek gulf, which have been integrated into the current Aredighuan, still speak Arvihl, even if vernacular. Most of them are completely bilingual with Hårdanska, but their mothertongue is still that Tarian language.
