Norric Commonwealth

Template:Norric Commonwealth infoboxThe Norric Commonwealth (Hårdanska: Norriska Samväldet; Shaelic: Norikaðeda Ganunade) is a free association of nations which used to be members or dependencies of the Norric Union (which was controlled by the Kingdom of Haarden). It was formed in 1229, in the midst of the rapid process of Norric de-colonisation after the Great War.
The Commonwealth is not a political or military alliance, and its members come from a variety of regions, alliances and cultures across Eshraval. Member states attempt to find common ground on international issues, and the Commonwealth provides a framework for cooperation and interaction in various cultural, educational, scientific and sporting activities.
Organisation
The King of Haarden is styled "Protector of the Norric Commonwealth" (Norriska Samväldes Protektor), and, as such, is its symbolic head. He has no substantive powers over other the Commonwealth or its member states, but the government of Haarden has a special responsibility for coordinating Commonwealth activities and providing facilities for its headquarters, which are based in Viktoria.
The highest organ of the Commonwealth is the General Council (Generalsråd), which consists of ministers (normally heads of government) from each member state, and meets at least once a year (the location varies). Responsibility for administration and coordination of activities rests with a secretariat, headed by a Secretary-General.
