A) Sierra Club programs
The National Family Planning Program: Title X is to give all women family plannign even when they can not afford it.
Equity in Prescription Insurance and Contraceptive Coverage Act (EPICC) makes contrceptives affordable and effective
Abstinence is the only sure way to prevent a pregnancy, which reduces population increase. They mention, below the Abstinence Only, that 'comprehensive sexual education programs delay sexual activity and increase the likelihood of using contraceptives when individuals become sexually active.'
USAID, in 2005, spent $484 million in international family planning programs. They stabilize population growth and reduce abortions by preventing unwanted pregnancies.
The United Nations Population Fund gives many women access to voluntary family planning, economic opportunities, and education. These things are important in keeping the population down.
They all seem to be effective in reducing the population increase. Especially having them all together. I assume that if these programs are kept up then they should become effective. I think that education is the most effective way to prevent pregnancies. Contrceptives are good, but sometimes they seeem to incoursage promiscuity.
b)Migration and comsumption act together with overpopulation. The more our population grows the more we consume. This is making it harder for our land to support us. After we consume so much, we have to migrate. Then the cycle starts again. We are destroying our land. Then again the Earth seems to fight back. Environmental contasrophies happen everywhere. Killing more and more people. This could be Earth trying to maintain homeostasis. If our population wasn't increasing so fast then the Earth would be more apt to keeps up with us. Allowing a balance in population, migration, and consumption.
