Chronicle of the Cyborg Massacre (Nebraska, 1997) is a long spoken-word piece from the 2010 album Mad Positive Street Science by Sean Glover.

Background

Woke up one morning wanting to end the album with a tape-recorded fictional chronicle of some kind of doomsday event. This is what resulted. Mostly recorded in my living room, in a Memorex cassette recorder to a Sony tape. Either the Memorex or the cassette tape was broken. I'm not sure on that.

Basically, the 12-minute+ recording documents Kevin Donahue (voiced by Sean Glover) as he documents a cyborg massacre in Nebraska in 1997. Painfully and tearfully, he details how his family was trapped in a convalescent home and forced to read the cyborgs' manifesto in a park to an unsuspecting crowd of unlookers. Over the course of the recording, the family is forced to seek refuge in the basement of an Italian family away on vacation. They run out of beef and have to eat their cat. Their dog is stolen, and the basement begins falling apart. Donahue begins to think about killing a family next door who ran over his garden and possibly stole his beef. Eventually, the cyborgs go back to Czechoslovakia, and the family gets new watermelon and a cat.

Yeah, maybe when I can find the time to actually write it all out.
