Notes on attribution: Debra Dorward says that this recipe was a winter favorite for the Barbarossa and Benedicto kids. This soup will keep you warm for a long time after you have finished. Everyone who attended dinner on Mondays and Wednesdays with the Benedictos, Barbarossas, and Dorwards will always have a fond memory of this soup.
