History
Friend, Stranger, and Stranger Still was the second album of The Purple Mushroom Band. Unlike the debut, Serendipity, the album was released only on cassette. The cassette was recorded at Mountain High Music and was released in 1993.

Trivia
- The main lead singer on the album is Gabe Shapiro. Kevin St. John sings the lead on Trapped and provides spoken words in Sell
- Funk In The Mild Kootchie is introduced with the command "St. John! Not so funky!"
- The untitled track that closes the first side features an interplay between Gabe Shapiro (lead vocals) and Dan Ibarra (drums) in which Gabe requests several drum solos and informs Dan several times "You suck"
- Falling Out includes an extended drum solo
