Advanced Jobs
From Dynasts End
Paladin
The Paladin is a sacred knight, and acts as a counterbalance to the Dark Knight. Paladins can equip most swords and armor, and use special swords that have been imbued with sacred power, or the Holy element. They generally can use basic White Magic spells as well and some are able to use the holy spell, and have the ability to protect allies whose HP are low.
Fighter
They wield blades and are capable of inflicting heavy damage, as all of their abilities revolve around inflicting damage, both ranged and point-blank. A drawback to the Fighter is its inability to equip heavy armor.
ninja
Ninjas are characterized by wearing bandanas which cover their mouths, as well as clothing that nearly shrouds them completely. Their weapons include special daggers and boomerangs. Their armor selection is very limited, as they can only equip lightweight armor. They are strong physically, but they also have high speed. However, their HP and defense tends to be lower than other physical jobs. Their special ability is called Throw, and they can use it to throw weapons, Shuriken, and magical Skeans that are usually very powerful. They usually also have methods of nullifying physical attacks, and a way to quickly escape from battle. They are also very useful in being able to equip two weapons at once.
blue mage
They have access to certain powerful spells, known as Blue Magic, but in order to learn them, they must first be hit by the particular spell and survive it. They benefit greatly from the ability to Control monsters, reducing the chance involved in waiting for a monster to use their skill on the Blue Mage, and is necessary to learn support skills that monsters wouldn't typically use on their foes.
red mage
Only Viera can become Red Mages. Red Mages are very versatile, as they have good Magic and Strength. They are very good mages as they can use Black, White and Green Magic as well as the ability Doublecast, that can be used not only on Red Magic, but on any other magics as long as you have them as the secondary A-ability. Another advantage of Doublecast is that you can pierce laws. If the law forbids the use of fire and you Doublecast fire, it won't count as two fire spells, but as doublecast, meaning you won't violate the law. They can also be great physical hitters too, so one needs not worry much if someone casts Silence on them.
sniper
They can turn invisible and attack opposing units (or their gear) from afar.
summoner
assassin
The Assassin job focuses on taking out the target as quickly and efficiently as possible, sacrificing defense for movement. They can also strike from afar with bows, in case the battle gets too busy.
morpher
sage
The sage could be considered the ultimate Red Mage, being able to cast both Black Magic and White magic. However, the sage cannot equip swords and is physically very weak. The drawback of sages is that they usually have much lower MP than the other upgraded mage classes, like Magus and Devout, and their speed is the lowest out of all the other job classes.
alchemist
Unlike the Chemist job class of other games who normally mix items together, alchemists focus more on the offense, working to alter the composition of the opponent (Ex: Toad and Poison) or of the environment (ex. Meteor and Flare).
time mage
juggler
gadgeteer
dragoon
Dragoons are special knights that equip spears to attack. Their stats are weighted physically, and they can equip heavy armor that is modified to look like a dragon. Their special ability is to Jump, which allows them to do an aerial attack which does more damage than a normal attack. The drawback to this attack is that it takes longer due to the Dragoon having to Jump and then fall on his or her opponent. The advantage to this, however, is that Dragoons do not take damage while airborne. Another ability, called Lancet, sometimes called Lance or DragonSword, allows Dragoons to absorb HP and MP from their opponents.
defender
Well protected, defenders stride the battlefield with little fear. They can even nullify certain attacks entirely.
gladiator
This job can charge their weapons with elemental properties for stronger attacks. Gladiators are nimble melee units that are incapable of equipping heavy armor and so are a bit short in the Defense department. Their offensive capabilites, including the Bangaa variation of Ultima, Ultima Sword, make up for the Gladiator's lack of endurance.
templar
dancer
Dancers usually equip daggers, and one dagger of note is called the Dancing dagger, which is usually associated with the Dancer class. Their ability, Dance, performs one of several actions chosen at random, and their stats are some of the lowest of all classes.
bard
Bards are characterized as wearing lightweight tunics and feathered hats. They usually fight with harps. Their ability is to Sing, which allows them to sing songs that have various effects. Sometimes, they increase the stats of allies, and other times, they have effects on opponents. Another ability which is attributed to the Bard is Hide, which allows them, due to their stats (usually the lowest of all classes except the Dancer), to hide from the battle. When hidden, they cannot perform any actions, but they are invincible.
nightshade
Beautiful swordmasters who command the forbidden dark arts of the warmage. It excels in dealing heavy damage to both single units and groups.
dragon knight
sky samurai
hermetic
Judgemaster
flintlock
Specialists of distance attacks, they can inflict massive damage to far-off enemies and adjust their cannons' range, strength, attack frequency, and accuracy in the battlefield.
arcanist
The job specializes in using destructive Arcane Magic. Arcanists have a large base MP pool that when combined with their advance spell portfolios make them a potent foe against an enemy in an extended battle. They have mediocre HP and low evasion. They learn their abilities from rods.
scholar
Experts in the theory of warfare, Scholars provide battlefield support and wear academic robes with mortar boards.
Like Red Mages, Scholars have access to White and Black Magic but with a far greater range of spells from which to choose - and often automatic access to sensory magic. The trade-off is a lack of offensive ability; unlike Red Mages, Scholars may not wield swords or daggers, and instead go into battle armed with tomes or grimoires.
defender
trickster
green mage
This job protects all allies by using Green Magick. This spellset consists of bestowing positive status buffs on allies and negative status ailments on foes. Green Mages wield Hammers and Maces, and are one of the most physically powerful mage classes in the game, second only to the Blue Mage.
spellblade
lanista
viking
heritor
geomancer
Geomancers use bells as weapons, and equip light tunics as armor. Their special ability allows them to use the terrain they are fighting on as an attack. They can also walk across lava.
