Origin
Let's see... in official canon, Transformers were originally created by Primus, kind of like their Mata Nui... Or they were created as military warfare by the Quintesson's, though this was said to be false by a Transformer... Or, the Transformers were created by the All Spark, which no one knows who created. So, we'll just say that these Transformers were created from the All Spark, which was created by Primus after he created the "Original 13". As for the Quintessons, we'll just say they're lying jerk/hoboes who want to twist around everything you thought you know.
For the record, Primus was created by "the One", as was Unicron. Now, Primus' daddy is some type of celestial being beyond the power of anyone else. He created the multiverse. This is awesome.
Almost forgot, Primus is Cybertron, which is the planet that Transformers live on. Unicron attempts to eat this planet a few times, which technically means he's a canibal I suppose.
Biology
Spark: The spark is the essence of a Transformer, their heart and soul if you will. Basically, a Transformer can't really die no matter how damaged their bodies are as long as their sparks are unharmed. Heck, they can be blown to bits on a daily basis and be okay after being put back together. A spark could be destroyed quite easily, you really just have to stab it with something or blast it. This could be why there is ALWAYS a lot of armor in the chest area. Sparks are always blue, except for Megatron's, his is red, he's just sick like that.
Size: The size varies from Transformer to Transformer, usually they're massive, about two to three times taller than a Toa. Also, some Transformers are shown to decrease greatly in size when transforming, this will be detailed later.
Transformation: This is what Transformers are known for, they have the unique ability to transform from a robot into any machine. Every Transformer is able to transform into something when they're created and they're usually only able to scan things that resemble their alternate modes. There have been exceptions to this, like Megatron transforming from a tank into a pistol. Sometimes, Transformers may need to develop a synthetic flesh to cover their bodies tepending on the alt. mode.
Miscellanious Mechanical Stuff: As tranformers are machines, they have a lot of machine parts that I cannot name, so we'll just move on.
Energon: The power source of Transformers, energon is a type of fuel that only Transformers can use, as only they can synthesize it into a useable source, usually in the shape of cubes which Transformers can drink from. Energon is found in all planets, varying from small to large amounts. In its purest state, energon is lethal to Transformers, making causing damage to them in their robot forms.
Mass Shifting: This is when a Transformer drastically changes in size and mass when changing from one form to another. It is unknown how this happens, but it could be that their body is just naturally able to do this... or a wizard does it... or nanobots, those things can do ANYTHING.
Appearance
Humanoid: Most Transformers are humanoid, having two hands, two feet, two arms, two legs, one body, one head with a face, and five fingers on each hand, but no toes. This is basically the lay-out for most Transformers.
Beastial: Some Transformers might apear to be animal-like, having four legs and other animal features... They could be humanoid like the Decepticons from the movie also. Plus, they could look like wereanimals, cool right?
Other: Basically just Transformers that don't fit the descriptions listed above.
Culture
Basically, all you need to know is the following:
1) Autobots are good-natured by design. Decepticons are evil psychotic... uh... machines?... It isn't uncommon for an Autobot to turn into a Decepticon. But Decepticons NEVER turn into Autobots, just goes to show Decepticons trust turn-coats more easily than Autbots.
2) Transformers are almost constantly in Civil Wars. Usually involving Decepticons attempting to overthrow and conquer Cybertron.
3) During the few times Cypertron is in piece, the Transformers are usually controled by a council formed from Decepticon and Autobot representatives... this doesn't last long. Or, they're lead by one Transformer.
Relation to Comics Made by D-Shadow and Chaos
Transformers are set to appear in the comic series the Strikers in a crossover. These comics are going to be made soon after the end of Season 1. Only a few Transformers are set to appear, and only a few are 100% confirmed. They are Megatron, Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Soundwave, Ravage, Starscream, Onslaught, Arcee, Bumblebee, Scorponok, and possibly the Insecticons. Then again, that sounds like a lot...
The Transformers appearing in the Strikers will also transform, on the most part, into vehicles from the Halo game series, a few of them transforming into Bionicle creatures/vehicles. The reason behind this will be revealed in the comics.
