Barca's Tale

The following takes place right after Comic 29 of the Strikers.

Barca was standing, just watching his brother trying to break out of his prison. He used numerous mask powers, from igniting his body, to turning into his spiritual form, nothing worked. Then, Brosin used a vacuum power to blast air as a cannon to destroy the bars. Just as Barca saw that, the image of a mangled Le-Toa with several body parts twisted beyond recognition and his Mask of Vacuum shattered into many pieces stabbed into him flased before his eyes.

"Brosin, that's enough! You know you can't get out!" Barca screamed at Brosin. "Oh, you don't like to see me using your dead best friend's mask power?" Brosin started shooting the bars with more blasts of air.

Barca started remembering the images of his dead Toa brothers and sister, each killed simarly to the Le-Toa. He then walked towards the teleporter when he heard a voice. "What exactly did Alpha do?" Barca turned to his left to see the blue, white, and gold tank-like mecha in his cage. For a second, he forgot it was piloted by a creature that resembled a Kraata-Krana fusion.

"Well, Brosin didn't just kill my Toa team, he shattered their masks, stabbed them with the shards, and mangled them." Said Barca, somewhat surprised that any one in this base actually cared. "Hmm... Barca, I want you to think of the incidents very clearly in your mind." Beta asked. As he said that, Barca realised what he was going to do. "Alright, I know what you're going to do... I got it, you may latch onto my mask." Before Beta opened his chest to get onto Barca's face, he noticed a slightly angered look on his face. Perhaps because Barca knew exactly what he was going to do.

The last thing Barca saw was the Kraata-Krana jump towards him...

Barca and his Toa team were talking to a group of legendary Toa, their names were Gali, Kopaka, Tahu, Pohatu, Onua, and Lewa, who seemed bored, as he was balancing on his ax. "So, we are at an agreement?" asked Brosin, the Ta-Toa leader. "Of course brother, we shall gather information on the Brotherhood and see if there's anything suspicous about them." Tahu replied to Brosin. Barca noticed that Kopaka was looking back and forth to each of the members of his Toa team, from himself, a Toa of Matter, to Lokin, a Toa of Air, to Brosin, a Toa of Fire, to Shano, a Toa of Magnetism, to Tumal, a Toa of Water, and to Merc, a Toa of Gravity. After a few more words the Toa started walking away. Gali seemed to have forgotten somdthing, as she stopped, and then turned around. Barca thaught that she was walking towards him for second, then realised she took a mask out from her pack. Barca felt a surge of jealusy for a moment.

"We appologize Brosin, but we were asked to give this to you, it's the Altaki, Great Mask of Absorbtion. It's awarded to you for your abbility to defeat Malkara." Gali said as she handed the mask to Brosin. Barca remembered Malkara, a former Toa and rising Barraki, he also remembered how every one else was fighting back his army so Brosin could fight him. Then Barca saw Brosin chip off a piece of his Mask of Ignition and bring that piece close to the Altaki. The mask then absorbed that piece, and Brosin took off his mask and put it on. Soon, as they were walking away he heard Lokin wisper something to him "Man, don't make it so obvious that you liked her Barca, you looked like a moron." "Oh, look who's talking, you forgot why we even came there!" Barca wispered back as they both started laughing. "Hey, uh Brosin, did I miss something?" asked Merc, "Well, if you did, I did to..." Brosin said in response.

Then, it showed the team of Toa were fighting a Makuta. "Heh, would you look at that, the Brotherhood is evil, that's unfortunate." "Shut up Lokin! This is serious!" shouted Shano. "Ha ha ha, this truly is magnificent, Toa fighting amongst eachother." Said the Makuta as he hurled an orb of Shadow energy. Barca saw that is was about to hit Tumal and Merc quickly turned it solid with his elemental abbilities, Merc made it float in place, and Lokin used a wind current to hit the Makuta. Then, Brosin took out his Great Magma Blade and ran up to the Makuta. The second it hit the Makuta, Brosin decapitated him. Barca noticed that a piece of the Kraahkan flew into Brosin's mask. "Brosin! The-" But Barca was too late, Brosin was holding his head in pain, as his red and orange body parts turned black and dark gray, and Barca noticed energy coming out of the Makuta's body, jumped, grabbed it, turned it solid, and broke it on the floor.

When he faced Brosin, he was standing there, laughing. He looked at every one else and saw worried looks. "I have destroyed a Lord of Shadow's and absorbed a fragment of his power! I am no longer a Toa of Fire, I am the first and only Toa of Shadows!" Brosin shouted in triumph. Barca didn't understand, it was just part of a mask, there's no way it would be able to completely transform Brosin like that. Though, the proof was right in front of him, his trusted leader now seemed sinister and similar to the Makuta they just killed. "Brosin, just because you absorbed a piece of a Kraahkan doesn't make you control Shadows as an element! Listen brother, that mask might have been made so that you would absorb it!" Lokin shouted at him. "Listen to Lokin Brosin!" Tumal shouted "I read this Makuta's thoughts and I found out the leader gave it to him!" "You're correct Tumal, Lokin, I appologize for how I acted, I just got... carried away..." Brosin said. Over the years, Brosin seemed to become crueler, he punished his teammates brutally if they did something he didn't plan. He even started a habit of splintering the masks of anything that had one and adding it's power to his own.

Within 53 years, Brosin started acting normal, but on that day... "Brosin, where's Lokin?" Barca demanded. Brosin had apparently gone on a mission with Lokin, but came back alone. "Barca, listen, he got ahead of himself and got horribly killed..." Brosin said looking somewhat depressed. "I used my telekinesis abbility to bring him over here, but you won't like what you see..."

When the Toa team walked outside their base, they saw a horrible sight, Lokin was mangled, his body parts were twisted beyond recognition, and his mask was splintered and stabbed into him everywhere. Barca saw Tumal had clapped her hands over her mouth, Merc seemed physically ill, and Shano seemed to be on the brink of fainting.

Days later the same exact thing happened to Shano, but there were also signs of being blasted by wind. He was found infront of the base. "Okay, guys, for now on we keep our gaurd up." Brosin ordered "It must've been the same people who killed Lokin." "Yes, and someone that can copy abbilities, I see." Barca said as he glared at Brosin.

In a week, Tumal was found killed exactly like Shano, but with with signs of being brutally beat. She was found in her room, apparently placed on her bead. "Brosin, would you mind explaing to me how this happened when you were on duty?" Barca asked angrily. "Barca, you have to understand I saw the person who killed Lokin and Shano, I chased him and killed him." said Brosin "Someone else must've gotten in when I left..." Barca noticed Merc muttering something under breath, he probably was taking this really badly, he was closer to her than any one else. When he looked at Brosin he seemed he could care less.

The next day Merc was found killed the exact same way as Tumal and Brosin was above his coarpse, laughing. "What did you do to him!?" Barca asked, but Brosin seemed to ignore him. "Brosin, I am going to slaughter you! You didn't just kill the others, you tortured their dead bodies and took their mask powers! Why didn't I realise this before!?" "Barca, I changed that day because the Makuta leader implanted a part of his own energy inside that mask I absorbed." Brosin said in a low voice. "Don't you see Barca!? He opened my eyes! He gave me a better view of things. I realised that if I got more power and killed my teammates, I would become unbeatable!" "What now Brosin, you kill me, take my Mask of Control and torture my dead body too!?" Barca asked. "But, that won't happen, I figured this out after Shano was killed. I tried to warn the others, but they didn't believe me, you already convinced them." "So what is this 'Master plan' of yours Barca? Is it paint yourself orange, flee the dome and change your name?" Brosin asked sarcastically. "No, I'm going to turn into a Matoran, lose my mask power, and teleport to a distant dome in one swift move." Barca said calmly. "There's no way you can do that Barca." Brosin said triumphantly. "I know a guy." Barca said smiling.

Then, Armaka teleported into the base as a Turaga, in gold robes, wearing a sand blue mask, and having sand blue and black armor, absorbed enough Toa energy from Barca to turn into a Toa and to make Barca turn into a Matoran instead of a Turaga and was teleported to a distant island known as Demo-Nui...

Beta went back into his mecha as Barca said "Then some red and black Matoran came wearing a bunny mask said hi and beat me up after I asked if he was a Ta or Onu-Matoran." "Ineresting, well, I hope I didn't take up too much time." Beta said.

Trivia

If Botar were to banish Brosin to the Pit, Orochi would use the knowledge of the Order he obtained from Delta and turn every member into Spammers and Flamers.

Barca has become how he is now soon after he met D-Shadow, put will never become like Brosin.
