Her parents owned the PokéMart in Blackthorn City, and usually expected her to be around to help with the shop, but she was never having any of that. She wanted to have fun, and learn about everything, and there was no time for boring old work with such a lot of things to do! She was a bright little thing, too, and was usually in the top of her class throughout her young academic career. She spent so much time roaming the outdoors and keeping up on her books, though, that she never thought to take her Pokémon license immediately - it wasn't until she was fifteen, when she witnessed the dragon tamers of the city taking down a rogue Tyranitar that her interest was completely captured. The few badges that she did manage to get came easily enough, and she even managed to trounce the leader of the Blackthorn Gym upon her re-entry to her hometown, earning her right to a Dratini. |

Unfortunately, there was the (not so) small matter of funding those expeditions; her parents were willing to buy many things for her, but not so willing to have their only daughter go off on a hare-brained adventure, and wouldn't shell a dime of funding for it. - Name: Rhaetia Falvey
- Age: 23
- Sex: F
- Hair: BLK
- Eyes: GRN
- Registration: Pokémon Trainer
Appearance
Rhaetia is not of any exceptional dimensions, standing at about 5'5" with a slim-ish build. Her hair, a rich and glossy black, reaches the middle of her back when left loose; she experiments every now and then with it, but usually wears it tied up in some way or another. Alas, it can get quite tangly when left to its own devices. Her face is well-proportioned, with a small nose and delicate eyebrows framing brilliant green eyes. Her skin colour doesn't stray quite much from a light tan - she spends quite a bit of time outdoors, but half of that's spent exploring ruins and caves. She likes feminine clothing - skirts, dresses, anything with a bit of flounce and swish - and never turns down a rich colour nor sparkly bit of jewellery, but can be sensible enough when she's traipsing around the great outdoors.
- PB: Orihime Soletta, from Sakura Taisen.
Personality
Rhaetia is a rather intelligent lass, even if first impressions would likely lead to something completely different in that manner. She's just very... eccentric. Oh my, yes. She is that! From appearance and demeanour to profession, she exudes a delightful air of curiosity and energy. This is, of course, helped along by the fact that she really doesn't give two shits about what anyone thinks of her. Self-esteem has never been a problem with her! It is rare to find her in an unhappy or annoyed mood; thoughtful or exuberant happiness is the norm.
She sometimes seems to be flighty, but most often this occurs because her brain and mouth operate at speeds that never quite seem to balance out right, and things end up rather jumbled in the end. Rhae doesn't seem to mind that some people think she's a twit, insane, or a mixture of the two. In fact, she seems to take enjoyment in the rumorings, as if it's all a large joke! It is extremely hard to offend her in any way - she shrugs most insults off as if they were rain. She is an idealist, a dreamer, a bookworm... and something of a pyromaniac. She's Rhaetia! And for her, there is always something new to discover. Sometimes one just has to take the most unconventional route to get there, but isn't that what's best, after all?
She has the heart of a wanderer, and is sometimes consumed by travel-lust; when this hits, only a nice, long excursion will keep her from becoming an annoying, sometimes-unbearable bundle of energy. She's also host to a rather large independent streak, and will often go out of her way to do things in exactly the opposite way that she was told to do them. It is yet to be seen whether or not she grows out of any of this - forecast of those chances are slim to nil.
As far as her attitude towards Pokémon go, well, it's sometimes hard to tell whether she's actually figured out that most of them aren't quite as smart as humans - she certainly is always talking to hers as if they are, and usually expects responses back. She adores them dearly, but is always pushing at them to be the best they can - not a very soft trainer, this one, especially when it comes to learning moves that are the essence of kaboom!
History
Rhaetia was always considered the odd duck of her family; always wanting to be outdoors as a child, and so full of curiosity about this, that, and the other thing. How stunning! What prowess! Such strength in those Pokémon!
She wrote her license exam shortly afterwards, aced it, and set out with her Cyndaquil, soon to be joined by a team of very capable beasties. Aside from catching a few, though, she didn't accomplish too much on that first trip; she spent more time spleunking into deep forests and caves than earning badges or doing anything that would set her apart as a particularly successful trainer! Well, except for raising her Pokémon, that is. The few badges that she did manage to get came easily enough, and she even managed to trounce the leader of the Blackthorn Gym upon her re-entry to her hometown, earning her right to a Dratini.
Rhaetia stayed in Blackthorn for after that, not quite sure what to do with herself. After finishing off her education, however, she headed back out into the world, this time determined that she'd establish herself as... something or other. She wasn't exaaaactly sure what, but she did know she wanted to explore all the niggly, secret, hidden places of the world! To be where hardly anyone else had been had such a thrill to it. Unfortunately, there was the (not so) small matter of funding those expeditions; her parents were willing to buy many things for her, but not so willing to have their only daughter go off on a hare-brained adventure, and wouldn't shell a dime of funding for it. Thus, falling back on a hobby she'd had when she was younger, Rhae trained herself and her Pokémon in the arts of magic - well, showcasing and smoke and mirrors, anyways, at least for her part (the Pokémon did a pretty good job themselves supplying flash and substance).
With her sparkling traveling magic show of kabooms, Rhae soon picked up a bit of notoreity, and with that, the cash to finally set off on her explorations. Thus began the great cycle - she'd disappear into the howling wilderness for a while, find interesting landmarks and spiffy Pokémon, and return months later to re-establish herself on a circuit of Pokémon centres and town squares. It's worked out pretty well so far, anyways!
Currently she's performing on Cinnabar Island - great money there with all the tourists about! - and stockpiling for an expedition into the depths of the Seafoam Islands.

Pokémon
Silkia
- Type: Typhlosion
- How long owned: 8 years.
- Other: Rhae's starter Pokémon, all grown up. Silkia was rather gregarious for a Cyndaquil - which was probably a good thing, being around Rhaetia all the time. Now, she's a trusted part of both Rhae's exploration squad and her magic shows.
Maya
- Type: Magneton
- How long owned: 7 years.
- Other: Maya runs the lights and electric effects during the magic shows! Rhaetia caught it (her, she swears) outside of Olivine City when she was a Magnemite.
Hestus
- Type: Hypno
- How long owned: 7 years.
- Other: Hestus is Rhaetia's trusty hypnotist during her shows; he charms the crowd in more ways than one, but is thankfully quite docile and faithful to Rhae. You won't find this Hypno eating your dreams! ...Just maybe making you act like a Pidgey.
Lumina
- Type: Stantler
- How long owned: 6 years.
- Other: Lumina provides most of the illusions that occur onstage during Rhae's magic shows (at least, the ones that aren't part of the lass's sleight of hand tricks). She's had to work quite hard at expanding the range of her reality distortions, but has really gotten the hang of it over the past two years.
Fafnar
- Type: Dragonair
- How long owned: 6 years.
- Other: Fafnar was caught as a Dratini after Rhaetia initially returned home from her first journey. She's taught him a few... interesting moves, and likes to tote him around in the magic show besides.
Voodoo
- Type: Buneary
- How long owned: 3 months.
- Other: The newest addition to her magic team, Rhaetia purchased Voodoo from a mail-order breeder in Sinnoh - but unfortunately, wasn't told that the little rabbity thing was a little... strongwilled. She's still attempting to work out the kinks in the act with this one.
