The Upupimimus purpurventris, was originally thought to be the fossil of a huge Hoopoe, until it was recreated.

Description

  • Body, face and nose area are purple.
  • Legs and arms are green.
  • Eyes are red.
  • Talons are yellow, the tips are red.
  • Around the eyes are patches of black, bare skin.
  • Black feathers and a black crest cover its body.
  • Has thicker feathers around its nostrils, probably to protect them.

  • Height: 5' tall
  • Length: 10' long
  • Armspan (AS): 6'
  • Weight: 1000 lbs.

Habitat and Range

Deserts of Devonshire.

Diet

Carcasses and meat of other animals, occasionally an apple.

Conservation Status

Endangered, but being bred in labs.
