Rufus J. Shinra
In Desai University Rufus Shinra comes straight out of the Advent Children realm of Final Fantasy VII. Inflicted with Geostigma, he has gone to Desai despite his illness in order to learn more about other world practices. When he is finished with his extensive education, he plans to return to Midgar to continue rebuilding the city and the world economy.
Rufus is played by Tony.

- Other Attributes: Because Rufus is inflicted with Geostigma, the President of the Shinra Corporation has "marks" from the disease. Across his left arm, up his chest area, and across the left side of his neck, Rufus has black, blue and purple markings left from Geostigma. In times of great stress, the markings spread across his body and cause minor internal bleeding. However, if Rufus is severly injured, the markings cause a bit more damage and he is usually hospitalized for a week or so. Rufus also has lapses where he hallucinates. This is also a side-effect of the disease. It gets worse in the presence of high concentrations of Mako.
Personality And Sexual Orientation
Rufus Shinra is known as being a cold-hearted individual. The man who, "never bleeds or cries" is a completely business-oriented individual who is punctual about his work and about how he himself is portrayed. He is also quite ruthless. When events do not go as planned, he tends to become quite irate and as such, he can and will snap at an individual who is not portraying his company in an orderly and presentable fashion. However, over the years, Rufus has grown a bit warmer with some people. Since his injury caused by Diamond Weapon, Rufus has more concern about life and about paying for his previous sins. He also holds more compassion for people he previously worked for and for people he once "screwed" over. However, he is not a complete saint. On the contrary, Rufus still holds a sense of pride within himself and he will not go down without a fight. He is passionate, shrewd and above all, a man in power. Thus, he is still quite demanding when it comes to the rebuilding of his corporation.
Rufus likes the ladies, however, he is in no way a lecher. He has yet to find the right woman for him, for most women of his age only want one thing: his money. And, due to his recent injury and the fall of his city, those women have vanished. The reason for his heterosexuality is simply because he grew up in a family that never tolerated homosexuality.
Background
Born in the grand old city of Midgar, Rufus was the son of one Juliana Shinra, and Jack Shinra. For five years, the young boy spent time in the care of the beautiful Juliana. Though, at times, he was taken away from his ruthless father, the young boy had plenty of love and care from his mother. It was only when he was six, did everything take a turn for the worst.
Juliana was slaughtered by an unknown company of bandits while out shopping. To this day, Rufus blames it on his father, but would never say a word of it. Instead, he was given a place at his father's side, and watched by nameless goons. One being a teacher of sorts, who began forcing knowledge down the small boy's brain. This left no time to explore the outdoors, save when he was being trained by some of his father's associates to shoot, and cheat people out of business.
When Rufus was thirteen, he was sent off to the Junon Military Academy. There he was to study the four major subjects, and of course, military rule and tactics. This only increased the young Male's need for power. He began proving teachers wrong, ignoring his duties as a student, and otherwise, trying to overthrow his father.
Rufus stayed in the military academy for a good few years. He worked with some of the officers and he learned business tactics for his father's associates. Of course, Ruths loathed them all, but he dealt with them in order to proceed with his ultimate goal: the demise of his father.
Eventually, through supplying the original organization of AVALANCHE, Rufus almost got his big break when his father was shot by one of the organization's members. Unfortunately, since the assassination wasn't successful, Jack Shinra began getting suspicious of his son and he put out an order for Rufus to be assassinated. Fortunately for Rufus, he had close ties to the Turks and his life was protected.
A few years later, while Rufus was still in Junon, Jack was killed by the rampaging General, Sephiroth. Rufus the took command of the corporation and remolded it after his own ideals. Instead of ruling the world with money, he decided to use fear tactics to help expand the Shinra Corporation. For a while, his tactics worked. However, when Meteor was summoned and the WEAPONS began rampaging the Earth, both Rufus and his company began to crumble. Random bouts of anger hit the young President and he ended up making brash decisions. One such decision almost cost him his life.
Rufus Shinra ordered that the Sister Ray be fired on a retreated Diamond WEAPON to both kill the monster and drop a barrier that had been created over the North Crater. While both missions were accomplished, the Diamond WEAPON had one last attack in it. This resulted in Rufus' office being blown up while he was inside. He suffered major trauma because of the event and he was quickly rushed to the nearest hospital before Meteor finally fell on the city of Midgar. For a good six months, Rufus was in a coma. During that time, the disease known as Geostigma began eating away at his body. When he woke, he found himself unable to walk and he found himself weak. His Turks helped nurse him back to a stable state and now he is working to help rebuild the city of Midgar. However, because of his illness and because of financial issues. he is finding it hard to accomplish his goals. So, he plans to attend the university to learn new business tactics and learn how to create an organized relief effort for his beloved city.
Weapons and Skills
Since Rufus did attend Junon's Military Academy, he has a few skills under his belt. He is an intense collector and wielder of firearms and he has an obsession with certain magic items.
Double Barrel Shotgun: This weapon has been with Rufus for years. He started using it when he was about fifteen years of age and since then, it has been his favorite weapon. He has a modified version of the same gun during his time in Advent Children so that he can hide in it the sleeve of his jacket.
Rifle: Rufus has an old fashioned rifle he uses mostly for target practice. Once used for hunting, the President gave up the recreational sport when he took power of the Shinra Corporation. He brought it to Desai to practice shooting. In the future, he plans to make a gunning club at the college.</p>
