The Southern Demon is in actuality an unseileigh bane shidhe, or banshee, that attacked the Southern Oracle during the the Polar War and subsumed his demesne. Transforming the entire thing into a parody of Candyland, the demoness took on the countenance of an elderly faery godmother and began baking an army of gingerbread men to combat the forces of the Northern Demon. Eventually the banshee was slain by Yusaku, who recovered Mathew from his imprisonment, and the countryside became desert with the original hermetic's sanctum lost in the conversion.
