The Coming of the Herald
Once, not too long ago in the eyes of the Underworld, there was a young girl who lived with her mother and father in a small village outside of Greyfalls. She was happy, as most twelve-year-olds are. One day, she went out into the woods to pick some berries for her mother's baking. She went a bit too far, though, and wandered into a small copse of trees with an odd stone in the middle of it. Tired, the girl took a seat on the odd stone; she then cried in alarm as the woods vanished around her and were replaced by the twisted hallways of the Labyrinth.
She began wandering the passageways, crying out for help. As she walked, spectres began to follow her, although they caused her no harm. Eventually, the girl stopped to sleep in what she assumed was a small cave within the maze. What she did not know, however, was the cave she had entered was one of the tombs of the Neverborn, and the child's frightened dreams quietly stirred the creature she laid beside. He Who Holds in Thrall Whispered softly to the child, causing her mind to break in the most exquisite ways. Just before her psyche was completely shattered, however, the Neverborn asked her to join his service. The girl agreed, and the power of the Black Exaltation filled her small frame.
The girl spent two years walking the twisted paths of the Labyrinth, exulting in the closeness with Oblivion and her Master. In time, though, He Who Holds in Thrall summoned her and told her of a plan. The girl agreed, and made her way from the Labyrinth to the Thousand. She presented herself to the First and Forsaken Lion as the Herald of Oblivion's Grasp, but stated that she was to serve the Princess Magnificent with Lips of Coral and Robes of Black Feathers. The Princess was both in shock and delighted, and the Herald has served her well over the past year. The First has never trusted the Herald, and has kept her at arm's length whenever possible.

Level Two Soulsteel Claws; 6m
If asked, The Herald states that the pair of soulsteel blades that were inserted into her arms were a gift from her Master. She then often uses them on the asker, allowing the thin soulsteel chains attached to the blades to give her additional reach. The soulsteel itself was created from nephwracks, and small red flecks dance along the soulsteel as the blades are used, eliciting horrifying cackling from the shades within. The claws have the stats of the ranged attack of the Gauntlet of Distant Claws, with a range of 15 yards.
Oblivion's Bulwark
Level Four Soulsteel Tattoos
Yet another gift from her Master, these soulsteel tatoos are a mockery of those seen on the Lunar Exalted; the tattoos follow patterns that cause the eyes to ache, and faces occasionally appear in the dull gray metal. These tattoos offer the Herald the benefits of the Moonshadow anima against creatures of death.
Merits and Flaws
Disturbing (2F): Living in the Labyrinth for two years does that to you.
Known Anathema (2F): On the way to The Thousand, The Herald made a bit of a show in Chiaroscuro involving a number of hungry ghosts. A number of Immaculates were present, and have been keeping an eye out for her since.
Sterile (1F): No true servant of the Neverborn shall bear a child.
Sun-Seared (2F): The Light of the First Usurper is harsh to the Herald, and she shuns his touch whenever possible.
Unusual Appearance (2F): No explanation needed, really.
