[edit] Hi! A question about templates...
I found your name trough the main page and you seemed to know a lot of EditThis, so I wanted to ask this: is there any way to get Wikia character infobox templates (like this one I made) to work in an EditThis wiki? The templates work fine in Wikia, but whenever I try to transfer the template to EditThis, (almost) everything is messed up: the image place has random pieces of template's code, white areas are black in EditThis etc.
Could this be fixed? Thanks!

- Hi there, first of, I wanted to redirect comments to this disuccion page because I thought that I won't sign in on editthis.info/wiki often enough as it seems that the cookie for editthis.info will keep me logged in only on my wiki (/dbhbonn) or on the administration wiki (/wiki). I do however see now, that this is yields other problems, as you weren't signed on my wiki when asking. So I don't know who you are. Could you point me to on of your userpages?
- Anyways, regarding you problem on templates:
- I copied the two templates you mentioned on my wiki (Template:TestOrderPhoenix and Template:T and tried to use them here --DELETED--. It didn't work. So I added some text at the begining of the Template and it seems the problem is that the template uses default values. I created two templates on /wiki and a page using them. You can find this page here http://editthis.info/wiki/TemplateTestpage . I guess the template should work if you delete all the |. It will however probably loose some functionality, when you do so.
- I hope that helps. Jan 22:22, 26 August 2006 (EDT)
Hi again and thanks for such a fast reply! I tried it again but I dind't save it since it (still) didn't seemed to work and I found the reason: I made the original template for SW Fanon in Wikia, which uses MediaWiki Version 1.7alpha, while EditThis uses 1.5.
- Anyway, I'm Phoenix, the admin of Gingapedia.
I guess that I'll have to work without that template for now, because I don't know much about coding.
Thanks for everything! --80.222.235.100 11:39, 27 August 2006 (EDT)

[edit] MediaWiki update?
Hi again, Jan. This is your random idiot, who asked about those templates. (See above) Anyway, I was just wondering...where is Rob Kohr and how exactly is the MediaWiki update going? Are we going to see MediaWiki 1.6 before Christmas? :D
--80.222.235.100 05:27, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
- Hi Phoenix, I don't know where Rob Kohr is. But I know that he's been reading his blogs comments some days ago. But I have to agree, posting on Feedback doesn't really give one confidence that Rob will read it. I don't know whether we should come up with some review system for the feedback in order to make sure that important questions reach Rob.
- I have to say, however, that MediaWiki 1.6 or 1.7 isn't on my top priority list. What I really want to see is better performance. I know that's difficult to do, but I guess the student dorm, this page it for, is willing to pay for that, if it also got some 25MB or 50MB of space. Actually, I know they are willing to pay, but they've got difficulities with accounting for money that isn't spend via usual bank transfer. Jan 05:40, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
