Human normally refers to the human of a daemon. It can also refer to a human form of a daemon. It is generally considered impossible for a daemon to settle as a human, as it is considered impossible to analyze. It is, however, possible for daemons to become human forms, but not settle as them.

In His Dark Materials

In His Dark Materials, there is a occurance of a human daemon being mentioned for a dead scholar in the crypt at Jordan College. However, this is an error corrected in later editions of The Golden Compass/Northern Lights.
