The Zoo/"Let's ask the dragon."

From Create Your Own Story

"Oh...okay," Oscar says, sounding less than enthusiastic. "I'll show you where he lives." You follow him outside. "Be careful," he says. "He's got claws and teeth and a long tail that he uses to whip people with, and he has two slaves that he guards fiercely, and I've never heard of him losing a fight."

"Good thing we're not going there to fight with him," I say, trying to calm the nervous otter. It doesn't help.

"He's going to want something from you," he says. "Something valuable, something important."

"Well, I don't have anything valuable," you say, "so we'll have to work something else out. Don't worry, okay? I can handle this."

"Okay," Oscar says, his little voice suddenly soft and sad. You glance at him. His whiskers are drooping and you wonder what's wrong with him now. Before you can ask, he stops walking. "We're here," he says and points to the dark mouth of a cave.
