You start out on Route 1, which makes sense as a starting point. You know Blue and Leaf are already far ahead of you, so you try to pick up the pace. Still, you have a brand new pokemon, and while you want to keep up with your rivals, there's more that you could do to prepare.

What do you do?

• Tall grass through to Viridian
• Look for trainers to fight
