Grab a stick on the ground and wave your hands over the pentagram, muttering useless, made-up words in an attempt to make something happen.

You grab a glow-stick, wave it and chant. Crystal giggles nervously.

Then something cold and dark forms at the center of the painted star. Even with the lights shining at it, you can't make it out clearly.

I do not understand, it says. I only want to be with you. It is lonely where I am from. This is paradise! There are others here!

"I know you are lonely," Crystal says. "But you cannot stay here. You bring the cold and dark with you and we cannot live with it."

The various lights grow brighter. The being cringes back and seems to curl in on itself.

It lunges at Crystal. She grabs one of the earrings and sticks it in her mouth. The being draws back from the light shining from her.

"Go," she says.

It lunges at you. You imitate Crystal and grab an earring. Before you can get it into your mouth, cold arms embrace you.

You are no longer on Earth. You are in a place colder and darker than anyplace you've ever known. The glow-stick drops from your fingers as cold seeps into you.
