You don't want to wait around. You came on this trip for action. It's time to go out and find it.
You change into a good fighting outfit of tight black leather pants, knee-high black leather boots, black leather gloves, and a white blouse. The sleeves of your blouse are rolled up to show off your thick, well-muscled forearms, the darkness of their brown tan contrasting sharply with the white color of the blouse.
You then gather up your weapons, placing the sword on your right hip and the shotgun on your left. The crossbow and the quiver of wooden bolts go on your back. Finally, you grab your night-vision goggles - an expensive set, the high-quality ones that Special Forces use. You're glad you remembered to pack them. They could come very much in handy in combat with creatures of the night.
Heading downstairs and slipping out the back door of the hotel, you step out into the darkness. The air is cold, and the wind howls faintly through the alleyways. Although lights are on in some of the buildings, the streets are deserted, as if the townspeople fear being out after the sun goes down.
You glace towards the center of town, then put on your night-vision goggles, scanning the other direction. Barren hills stretch out into the distance.
As you begin turning back around, you see a shadowy figure moving swiftly through an alley. It turns the corner and disappears. It's hard to tell if the shadow was a human or a vampire.
