Catch up to him at the next red light and race him again

Luckily, the lights around here are staggered to prevent anyone getting up a decent turn of speed. You easily catch up the nerd while he's idling at the next light. He recognizes you and gives you a mocking wave. Then the light changes and you floor it.
You manage to hold steady with him, until one of his tires gives out. The sudden bang startles you into hitting your brakes. He passes you before veering off the road and coming to a halt right between a pair of large trees. You're amazed that he was able to steer between them instead of ramming one.
