You place your bet on Who The Hell. A few minutes later, the race starts.

"And they're off! God Knows Who breaks out first followed by Who The Hell, The Nameless One and in last place No One Knows. At the quarter pole it's God Knows Who. Here comes No One Knows on the outside making a move. The Nameless One cuts to the rail and surges forward to take the lead half a mile in. And they're coming to the three-quarter pole. As they come around the turn Who The Hell pulls into the lead. Down the stretch they come! It's Who The Hell in front with The Nameless One surging on the outside. Here comes God Knows Who on the rail and closing fast as they come to the finish and it's GOD KNOWS WHO by a nose at the wire! What a race, folks!"

Now you have zero dollars. Oh well.

Your landlady is a good-looking, middle-aged, recently widowed woman. Maybe you can find some other way to pay this month's rent... but that's a different story.
