Arturia/Heavy Dress/2/Ruairi/put blade away

From Create Your Own Story

You feel exhausted after everything that happened today. You got send off to some unknown future husband, forced to wear this annoying dress just so he'd have a good opinion of you and had to endure half a day in a carriage because its impossible to ride a horse in this getup. Grumbling, you take off the necklace and put it on top of the nightstand before going to sleep, forgetting your dagger there in the process.

You wake up to a soft clinking and the rustle of cloth. You keep your muscles relaxed and your eyes closed as you listen intently. The noises are from your nightstand. You berate yourself for not taking precautions against thieves. 'That was stupid,' you think, 'I should have put the dagger under my pillow.' Duran would've given you a dressing-down.
Your back is to the nightstand, and you'll have to turn quickly if you want to catch the thief.

"When you come awake," a masculine voice says, "your breath rate changes."
You tense and open your eyes. "So?" you say.
The thief chuckles, a warm sound. "I just thought you'd like to know."
You slide up to a sitting position and face him. He is holding the necklace you got when you left home, running long, pale fingers over the chain.
You stare. The first thing you notice is that his hair is an unbelievable shade of red that falls loose down his shoulders. The fabric of his shirt is a clean white that falls loosely over broad shoulders, and the brown trousers fit him well. He is wearing soft leather boots. For a thief, he's wearing surprisingly high-quality clothing.
You meet his eyes to find that he is smirking. You blush. "Take it, if you want," you say softly.
"Take what?" he asks, green eyes sparkling with amusement.
"The necklace," you say, "And the dress, if you like... "
"And the dagger?"
You hesitate. "Well... I suppose you can have it." You have an extra in your luggage, after all.
His grin widens. "And... the nightgown?" he purrs.
You gasp. "I'd- I'd never!"
He chuckles. "I'm joking," he says, putting the necklace down, "I didn't come here to take anything from you. Forgive me for disturbing you." He bows gracefully and walks to the door.
"Then why did you come?" you ask, confused.
He pauses just inside the doorway. "I only came to see if my wife is truly as beautiful as they say..."

Apologize to Lord Ruairi for mistaking him for a thief
Ask Lord Ruairi if he thinks she's as beautiful as they say
Sit there in shocked silence
