A Knight's Quest/Chapter One/Tell the priestess what he said.

From Create Your Own Story

You give her his message and she bites her bottom lip. You can't help but notice how sexy that is, though she seems oblivious to it.

"That is concerning," she says at last. "Still, there is nothing that we can do about it except remain on our guard." She glances at the sleeping man. "Come, let us leave him to rest."

She smiles and leaves the small room and you follow her back into the main hall of the church. Darkness shows through the large windows, indicating night has finally fallen. Candles bathe the area in beautiful light.

"I realise that I have not yet thanked you for bringing that poor man to receieve the aid of the gods," you hear her say. "Too many people would have left him to die. Your bravery commends you, ser knight. My name is Cassandra, and I am at your service." You suddenly realise that a mischievous glint has entered the priestess' eyes.

Just then, the doors to the church open and you see the innkeeper's daughter hurry in clutching a roll of blankets. She passes them to the priestess with a quick bow. "My father sends these to help treat the man who stumbled into our tavern," she says breathlessly. "I hope they are not too late."

The priestess smiles at her as she takes them. "I am very grateful, Liza. You will be pleased to know that he is doing very well. I have healed him, and he is now resting. All thanks to our brave visitor here."

The innkeeper's daughter - Liza, you know now - smiles at you. "Yes, he was very brave, priestess. Everyone else was too scared to react. He stepped in when no one else did. So brave..." She smiles at you, and you notice a mischievous glint in her eyes, too. "Ser knight, your room at the tavern awaits, if you would like to be shown to it?"

You realise you have a decision to make.
