You fish a gold coin from your purse and place it in the innkeeper's palm. He fires off a friendly grin and another wobbly bow before reaching underneath the counter and pulling out a thick metal key, which he hands to you.

"As I said before, ser knight, it's our most prestigous room. Only the best for honourable men like yourself." He smiles again. You wonder if he ever stops. "Your room is at the end of the corridor on the next floor. Would you like me to show you the way?" he asks.

You reply:

• "No, thank you, I'll find it myself."
• "Of course, that would be most kind."
• "You seem a busy man, perhaps your daughter would be kind enough instead."
