The Portuguese galleon tries to dodge your ship and position their cannons for an attack. The galleon manages to turn sideways, but before they can ready a volley of cannon-fire the bow of the Midnight smashes into the side of the galleon.

There is a horrible cracking sound...

You look down and see that the Midnight's ramming attack has rendered an enormous hole in the side of the galleon. Within 30-40 minutes the other ship will be no more. The bow of the Midnight will need some repairs, perhaps 2-3 hours' worth.

The Portuguese sailors have come to the same realization. They appear to be in a momentary state of shock.

Tell the Portuguese sailors to get as much of the galleon's cargo onto your ship as possible and sign them on as new crew members

Have your men board the doomed galleon and help loot the cargo, giving the galleon's men a chance to join your crew

Order your men to slaughter the crew of the doomed galleon before looting it
