You back away from Mido and then take off running towards the path which leads to the Great Deku Tree

Along the pathway you encounter Saria.

"I have been looking for you!" she says. While you are glad to see her well, you need to find Zelda and fast.

"Saria, I want to talk but there's no time- I need to speak with the Great Deku Tree."

"Come on, we'll go together," she offers with a friendly smile. You follow her down the pathway to the tree.
