As you pull the string, your parachute deploys instantly. The sudden deceleration makes you feel like you are being pulled upwards. You think you are safe for the time being... until another god-damned searchlight finds you. The German anti-aircraft guns open fire once more, and you are torn to shreds long before you reach the ground.
