Go off at an oblique angle

You feel along the glass and go off at an oblique angle to the path you’d been following. You pass a bewildering array of images of yourself, images of ballerinas who mimic your movements, and occasionally you spot the pirouetting ballerina, twirling about with one dainty, slippered foot extended behind her. It's all so disorienting that you're not really sure which way you're going or which way the ballerina images are going.
