"Michele. That's her name? Listen, I don't know if you'll believe me or not, but I was just minding my own business when she told me to come with her or she'd scream rape! She tied me up in there and left, saying she'd be back in an hour – she's insane!"
You pause and look back down at the girl who gawks at you. Seems she didn't buy your tirade.
She giggles. "I guess I should have guessed... Considering how often she does this kind of thing..."
"She does this often?!"
"Not really... I've only heard about it." She extends her hand and you hesitantly shake it. "I'm her roommate, M-May,"
"Hi, ah, sorry I knocked you over," you say sheepishly, brandishing your handcuffs. She finally notices them.
"She used handcuffs!? How did you..."
"Umm it's a long and embarrassing story, I'd rather not talk about it right now. Do you know where she might keep the keys?"
She shakes her head. "I don't really bother Michele, we don't talk much. I think Megan and Jane would know though... They're my other roommates. They hang out a lot with her."
You ponder this for a moment. "Huh, well, as much as I would like to stick around... I really want to go before Michele gets back."
She nods slightly, standing shakily. "I–I understand. You know what? I think I know who can help you..."
"Really?"
"Yeah," she says a little more energetically. "Follow me." She opens the door to the dorm, gesturing for you to go first.
