An hour later...
Ronan picks me up and we head to Aphrodite. "I'm sorry I have to walk you through the back entrance, but the boss wants to keep your connection to Aphrodite a secret now that you're on Anthony's radar."
"It's alright."
We walk through the VIP section, but since it's still early, the club is closed, and there are no guests. However, we meet Gemma the waitress. "Hi!" I say to her.
"Hi! I heard you're working for Darren now. I'm happy for you."
"What do you mean?"
"He's a good boss. Just a pro tip... Don't fall for him. He never tolerates if someone falls for him."
"Umm, of course."
Ronan notices us talking and jumps in, "You slept here again?" he asks her.
"Yeah. Another argument with my dad. I should really find my own place, but I'm trying to save up."
Remembering the scene from my first night here, I frown. "I hope things get better."
"Thank you. I'm sure they will."
Ronan then takes me to Darren's office and leaves the two of us alone. And Darren starts speaking as soon as I walk in. "You've successfully made contact. Good job! You might need a few fashion tips... but you're still a bombshell." His voice is void of any emotion, and I get the feeling he's in a bad mood.
