With a well practiced reaction, you draw your dagger and stab the invasive tentacle, deep. Feeling your stab stop halfway into the wood of the oar, you hear a terrible shriek as the Squid girl pulls her tentacle back, slicing down the line several inches until your knife is dislodged. That definitely got the point across.
Wrapping her split limb with a different tentacle, she begins a hasty swim back out to sea.
