It goes against your natural competitive instincts, but you're very curious to see what Kara will want from you. So you decide to lose to her. But you don't want to make it too obvious.
You move your character around cautiously, taking a little bit of damage from Kara's and giving her almost as much back with each skirmish. You're both running low on hit points when Adam walks into the room. He looks shocked to see Kara playing against you and winning.
"I didn't even know you could play this game," he says, addressing her.
Without taking her eyes from the screen, Kara chirps, "It's easy to pick up."
A minute later, her character takes you down. She has about 10% of her hit points remaining. A good job, you think. She just barely won, so it looks realistic.
Kara puts down the controller and looks at you. "I win the bet," she giggles, with a saucy grin.
"Bet?" Adam asks, confused. "What bet?"
