"Why don't I treat you to ice cream this afternoon?" you whisper.
Katy's face relaxes. "Okay. And don't ever pull my shorts down again."
"Deal," you reply.
The gym teacher, a stern-faced woman, comes over. "Is there a problem here?"
"No, ma'am," Katy says. "Brandon already apologized and promised there won't be a repeat."
"There better not be," the teacher snaps. "Next time, it's detention for you, young man."
You nod. "Understood."
That afternoon, Katy smiles at yuou from over her bowl of ice cream. "Brandon, why didn't you say something?" she purrs. "Were you scared I'd say no?"
You blush. "Katy..."
Katy smiles. "It's OK. Brandon. You're not the first boy to be shy about asking for a date. I don't mind you having a crush on me."
