The drive to the highway is short, and your music drowns out the banging that was stopping you from being able to concentrate.
With this newfound serenity, you quickly recall a fishing cabin that Bret's friend owns. It is only thirty miles away, but is very remote indeed, and luckily you saw the guy retreive the key from under a plant pot outside it. Hopefully no one will be there on a Monday like today.
