Going through the mountains you see a passing merchant. He first asks you if you would like to purchase a few items for the cold travel ahead. "What are you selling?" you reply. He surprisingly gives you an uneasy, nervous look, and mutters to himself that he actually remembered a prior engagement and begins to bustle past you. You quickly grab his arm and demand a reason for his strange reaction. He hesitates for a minute and seems ready to confess, but in a flash of metal he takes out a dagger, holds it to your neck and reveals himself to be an assassin.
Your mind begins to race- you've never seen this man before, let alone know why he knew of your location. He seems to read your thoughts. "No, no, not you. I was almost positive, but I guess i've gotten a little old for this..." It's true- his face is in the light now and you are able to fully able to see the deep lines in his face. "Anyway, I'm looking for someone specific, who wants something specific. Hmph, I thought people knew better around here and not to ask too many questions, but I guess not." His hand with the dagger in it is steadfast. Your not sure if you can shimmy yourself out of this one you think.

[Figure that if he's an assassin, he will want to rid all his trails and every minute that passes, the chances of you escaping are getting thinner]
