You give it a good try, but the spear moves faster than your hands. The spear pierces your chest and the head passes out through your back. That... stings. It doesn't hurt. It merely stings. You look at the pole sticking out of your chest and watch the blood leaking out around it.
The cannibals stop their charge and look, too.
