You go into the living room to find toppled over furniture, and blankets and pillows strewn across the room everywhere. You carefully move around the furniture, looking for clues. You pick up one blanket that has a star pattern on it, and you find what looks to be a fake nail. You tell Simmons to bag it up for investigation. He wraps it up with a lunch bag, and writes down who found it, where it was found, what time it was found, and who bagged it. Before you had told Simmons to bag it, you took a look at it. It had nail polish on it. It was a blackish color, if not completely black.
You continue looking around the room, but find nothing of importance.
After it was sent to the forensic units, they tell you that they found some skin cells stuck to the inside of the nail. They compared it to the DNA of Dolly, Nancy, and Patrick. The DNA under the fake nail belonged to Nancy Kanan.
