You don't know whats stalking your boat, you don't want to know. You don't ever want to know. You row and row while growing more and more uncomfortable with how the ripples in the water seem to adjust their course towards you.
Because of your early start, you are able to beat whatever it is to the beach. As your boat scrapes along the sand and runs aground, you jump out, knife drawn, and stare back into the sea.
You swear for a moment you see blue hair and eyes under the water, but then the ripple retreats back into the depths.
