The crowd shouted: "Yeah!".
The net round is the wet swimsuit contest, where the contestants are all sprayed with water. After that they make pairs and pairwise compete for the public.
Your wife and her mother combine in one pair. When their turns comes up, they compete against each other which means only one of them will pass to the next round.
They come out and begin to offer various poses to public.
