The Adventures of Pinaria Vol. I
The original intro to my story got kind of hard for me to write so I decided to rewrite it. You may find the original pieces of what I had originally planned. Instead of having you play as uncle Flynn for a few choices. I decided to start the story off with Flynn telling his tale to a group of children. Uncle Flynn is basically a story teller in the lower industrial part of the grand city of Orioli. I'm going to go and try this new intro and see how it works out.
"Once upon a time, in a land that is hidden by the Eastern Sea Wall that blocks the view of the ocean. A stretch of land that is yet unknown by the touchesof our own hands. Where a man was more valuable than a Clanker. The air hasn't been clouded from the smokes of the factories. Where trees grow in numbers to hide the riches. The same riches we had plundered to nothing but ashes or pebbles. A world full adventure, mystery, riches, and dangers. A world that is yet far more perfect than the Royal Kingdoms of Orioli. A stretch of land that could make kings and queens alike vaults full of gold to the end of time. This.......Pinaria." said Flynn
The children around him start to move in closer to hear his tale.
"Pinaria." continued Flynn, "A world where someone like all of you could become something greater. You could go serve as an apprentice under a Mage. Or even a wizard himself. You could also become the mightiest warrior ever known to be heard of. That could possibly destroy armies before you. You could also become a well known Rogue or Ranger that could shoot a War Balloon out of the sky. You can become anyone in this new world."
"Umm, Mr. Flynn." asked a child.
"Yes, child?" asked Flynn.
"How do you know its real?" asked the child again.
"Because I was there."
You were on the other side of the room. Trying to think. Uncle Flynn's story wasn't helping you right at this second. You probably heard this story about the fifty times. Maybe more, but you didn't keep count probably due to the fact that when you realized how many times you heard would surprise you that you haven't gone insane from it yet. You tried to summarize the story in your thought so it might actually help you think some more.
Uncle Flynn went across the giant cliff barrier known as the Eastern Sea Wall. Expanding over hundreds of feet high and probably hundreds of feet thick. You couldn't tell because you didn't see the endless expanding Eastern sea beyond the wall. The reason why nobody went across the wall by air ships anymore. Because those who went over only came back on giving up from spending years end over the endless abyss of the Eastern sea.
After loosing much of the food's supply with the ship Oracle taking too much damage from the ensuing storm. Flynn had to make choice right there, either to head back beyond the wall of safety or keep heading forward into the abyss. Knowing how reckless the old man is, he pushed onward into the storm. There out in the Eastern sea laid a safe haven of hope. An island of tropical beauty as he recalled it, in a desperate attempt to save his ship. They braved the treacherous waves for several long brutal hours. They fought the storm as if it was their last breaths alive. Until, they landed in the calm waters of the mysterious island.
From here on in, he would talk about the natives of the island being ruled by a cruel dark lord that used large dire wolves, flying monkeys, an army of talking bears that use spears, and demonic possessed dead that rises from the graves. He would keep on going the swashbuckling tales of the fight. As the dark lord was slain, he would then talk about how kind the villagers were in repairing the heavily damaged ship. If Flynn had more time to continue the tale, he would then talk about how he sailed the Oracle further into this imagined land of Pinaria. Elves, Dwarves, Magic, talking trees, intelligent beasts, beautiful women, tyrannical kings, and the such. Luckily you heard the ring of the evening bell that signaled the children to return to their homes.
"See you next time Flynn!" the children would yell before disappearing into the smog stricken fogs.
Flynn would yell back in reply, "Come back next time and I'll tell you more of this strange land of Pinaria!"
As Flynn finally shuts the front door is when you were able to collect your thought.
