Inside the door, the man let go of Katie's arm. He staggered over to the bed and lay down on it. Katie stood, tensely, heart beating in her chest, waiting for the man to come back for her.

She could have smiled when she realized it wasn't going to happen. For a couple of minutes, the man didn't move. Then she heard his loud snoring.

He must have drunk too much, and passed out as a result.

Now, how could she take advantage of it?

Katie looked around the small cabin. There was a stove and some drawers in one corner, and a desk, remarkably enough, set against one wall. The desk had several drawers in it.

Katie nodded. Maybe she could find something in one of those drawers that would help her to get these cuffs off her thumbs and wrists.

If she could get her hands out of the cuffs, then she could do something about the shackles, the gag, the nipple clamps, the dildo, even the vibrator.

Slowly, hardly daring to breath, Katie crept through the cabin, past the bed where the snoring roughneck still lay on his back. She had to pass only about a foot or so away from it, and had to force herself not to think about what could happen if he woke up and grabbed her.

After what seemed to be just less than forever, Katie reached the 'kitchen.' She stood next to the stove and examined the first drawer. How was she going to open it with her hands chained behind her?

After studying the problem for a minute or so, Katie decided there was only one way to do it. She would have to turn around, grab the drawer's handle in as many fingers of one hand as she could, then step forward, pulling the drawer open with her motion. Then she would have to turn around and examine the drawer's contents.

Katie turned so her back was to the first drawer. She had to crouch slightly to reach the handle, but after a few seconds, she managed to grasp it in the first two fingers of her right hand.

She shuffled forward, slowly, not wanting to make any noise that would wake the man. The drawer did make a scraping sound at one point, and Katie stopped, fearfully waiting for the man to wake up and stop her. After several seconds or a minute, when she heard nothing but his continued heavy breathing, Katie continued shuffling forward, ever so slowly edging the drawer out of its frame.

When the drawer was open, Katie let go and turned around. She bent down and examined the contents. This was made harder by the fact that she couldn't move anything to look under it, and by the fact that the cabin was very dark with only one inadequate light bulb. She didn't want to turn on more lights, as she didn't want to do anything that would wake the man up. Besides, she didn't know if there even were any other lights in the cabin.

Katie spent several minutes examining the drawer before deciding that it didn't have anything in it she could use. After deciding nothing here would help her, Katie turned around and slowly pushed the drawer closed with her bare butt.

Then she crouched lower, grabbed the handle of the next drawer down, and repeated the process.

Then, again, she let go of the handle, stood up, turned around, and started looking for anything in the drawer that would help her. She tried not to think as she did how hard this was, how her bondage made the simplest of things so much more time-consuming and difficult.

From the bed, the man stirred again, then moaned.

Katie waited until his breathing was normal again, then she continued searching the second drawer.

There were two more after this in the 'kitchen,' and three in the desk. She hoped she would be able to search them all.
