You blindly hurl the torch at the thing and run. There's a smash as the torch misses and explodes into pieces on the ground. Luckily you just about manage to dodge the thing before it lunges at the spot you were a second ago.
You run with speed you did not know you had towards what is, you hope, the source of the voice which has now reached an almost deafening level. You make it about three yards before your feet land on something and are taken out from underneath you. You sprawl to the ground, cracking your head off the hard concrete, and badly twisting your ankle. Something warm is flooding down your face in alarming amounts as you dip in and out of consciousness. You hear the thing slowly approaching you, it's paws thudding along the ground. Just before you black out, one thought races through your head....
