...take Maud to a play at the big theatre in the next town

The theatre is performing Big River, a version of the Huck Finn story. You get tickets in a good spot.
Maud smiles as you take your seats. "Thanks. This is really nice."
"I hope you enjoy it," you tell her.
Both of you do in fact enjoy the performance. Afterwards, you stop at a vegetarian restaurant and get salads.
"You're sweet," Maud says as the two fo you chow down.
You blush. "I like being with you."
The next week flies by and it's the weekend again before you know it.
