"I was just leaving" (Sprint out the door to the police station)

From Create Your Own Story

You get up from the librarian's seat quickly. "I was just leaving," you say as you sprint out of the library in the direction of the police station. Luckily you remember vaguely what direction it is as you jog down the sidewalk towards your destination. It's sunny outside and people are happily going about their business, too concerned with their own lives to even think what's bothering you. You fear for Elizabeth as you run, it's obvious that she's in trouble. She wrote it herself. The letter seemed to convey that there was someone after her. If that was the case you were determined to find them and do whatever you needed to do to make sure that they wouldn't bother Elizabeth anymore.

You reach the police station and burst through the door, looking around frantically for any sign of Elizabeth. You call out for her a couple times before realizing that she wasn't there. An officer approaches you and you catch your breath as he talks to you. "Hey buddy, what's the matter?" he says putting his hand on your back.
