It briefly crosses your mind that perhaps the lack of care you put into your appearance may be one of the reasons you've reached 20 without ever being courted despite being the most naturally beautiful woman in the entire city, a thought you violently shove back into your subconscious. Oh, men certainly look at you, but you know exactly what they want, and it isn't to make you a princess.
As you yank your nightgown back over your head and flip your hair out of your face, your eye falls on the rock beside your mattress and you:
