You walk over to the little girl. She glances up at you, then scoops up a handful of sand. She plops the sand down into a pile.
"You go talk to the lady if you want to," the girl says poutily. "I'll just build sandcastles."
"But I want to play with you," you say. "And the lady wants to play with you, too."
"She does?" the little girl says. "I don't know..."
