You are startled awake, as you fall down on a soft surface. You spring to your feet and notice that you're in a desert, your mate slowly waking up next to you. You quickly look around, to see an elf guard on a horse looking at you with great disdain.
"You two are hereby banished from the elf kingdoms. Should you step even an inch within our forests, you will be promptly executed without mercy. Am I clear?"
Your mate then stands next to you, grasping at your arm. "What about my father?" she asks.
"Your father passed to the great beyond during the night."
"No." she quietly cries as her grip on your arm tightens.
"What are we to do out here?" you ask.
"Whatever you wish, orc. Your lives are no longer our concern."
"This is a desert!" you shout in anger. "How are we supposed to survive?"
The guard sighs and tosses you a water pouch. "The king said that I am to give you once piece of advice. Travel east, and you should make it to the village of exiles. I shall say no more. Farewell."
The guard then gallops off, and promptly vanishes in the heat. You turn to your mate, and though she's obviously grieving her father, she looks absolutely terrified to be out in the desert.
